Gone roller skating since 8th grade? No. I wanted to start a roller derby in my city though, but when one started they had the meeting at the bar where my lame ex works (and will work until the day he dies I'm sure) so I didn't join.

I hope this video is working, it's just a short clip of the "Art in the Park" exhibit that was going on last Saturday. It was pretty cool, but unfortunately REALLY HOT outside, so we spent most of our time darting from spots of shade to other spots of shade.
It was neat, but it was about ten times the size of last year's exhibit, and although that's cool and all... it really seemed to hinder the actual selling of art pieces. Everyone had a lot of really interesting art, but it didn't look like anyone was actually buying any of it because there was simply so much of it. Especially the higher priced paintings and sculptures.

It's been a really hot weekend. Thank god for A/C!
Saturday we walked across the city and almost roasted to death at the Art in the Park event (I'll post video later) and then headed out to a party at a friend's place.
Today we kicked back out in the country, and saved a wee turtle who was trying to cross a busy highway:

Poor guy, he surely would have been squished. I picked him up and took him across to the field he was heading towards.

On my lunch hour today I went to return some movies to the video store, and pick up some muffin cup things (I'm baking oatmeal-apple muffins this weekend) and I decided to pop into one of the new art galleries that just opened up the street. It was pretty neat. They give you a wand, and you operate the lighting for each exhibit, because the lighting is supposed to be part of the whole experience. There were some very cool paintings in there, some that particularly caught my eye were of old houses looming on top of hills...

This week, so far, has been brutal. I've woken up feeling exhausted every morning. I have Leonard Cohen's "So Long Marianne" in my head... My breakfast consists of a diet coke. There's something wrong with starting your day with diet coke.
I can't believe it's June already, wtf. Where is half the year gone? How can the year fly by so fast when days feel so long?
Anyway here's a picture I took of some things on my balcony as I was moving my plants out there. I planted tomatoes last night :)
